Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Notary Public do?
A Notary Public is an official authorized by the state to witness the signing of important documents, verify the signer’s identity, and help prevent fraud. At The Notary Nexus, we ensure every notarization is legally valid and professionally handled.
What do I need to bring to my notary appointment?
You must present a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID). The name on your ID must match the name on the document being signed.
Do you offer mobile services?
Yes! We provide mobile notary services throughout Atlanta and nearby areas. We can meet you at your home, office, hospital, law firm, or other agreed-upon location.

What Forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, debit/credit card, and Zelle. A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking; remaining balance is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged in advance.
What is an Apostille, and when do I need one?
An Apostille is a special certificate issued by the Georgia Secretary of State that authenticates a document for International use. You’ll need one if your document is being sent to a country that is part of the Hague Convention.
Can you notarize electronically or online?
Currently, Georgia law requires in-person notarization, thus, we do not offer remote online notary services. We do, however, offer mobile notarization for convenience.
Do you provide witnesses if I don’t have one?
Yes, The Notary Nexus can provide witness services when arranged in advance. A witness fee will apply.
Can you notarize documents for use in another state?
Yes, as long as the notarization takes place within the State of Georgia, your notarized document can be used in another state.
What if the signer does not have an ID?
If the signer does not have a valid identification, we cannot proceed with the notarization under Georgia law.
Effective January 1, 2025, Georgia law requires notaries to confirm a signer’s identity using a current, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms of identification include a state-issued driver’s license, personal identification card, U.S. passport, or military ID.
